From the "Fête de la Musique" to Art Basel, Paris Photo and the glow of Christmas on the Champs-Élysées.
There is never a wrong time to visit Paris. Yet from June through December 2026, the City of Light enters one of its richest seasons in years — a convergence of world football, haute couture, contemporary art, grand exhibitions and gastronomy that few cities on earth could rival.
For the discerning traveller, the second half of 2026 may be the most compelling moment to experience the French capital. This is our month-by-month guide to the events that matter — and the addresses worth securing well in advance.
June 2026
The FIFA World Cup Comes to Paris
The tournament itself unfolds across the United States, Canada and Mexico — but Paris becomes one of Europe's most electric destinations for the world's most-watched event. Luxury hotels, private members' clubs, rooftops and landmark restaurants host exclusive viewing experiences, blending sport, gastronomy and Parisian elegance.
Fête de la Musique
Paris welcomes summer with one of its most beloved traditions. Musicians take over the entire city — classical recitals in historic courtyards, jazz along the Seine, contemporary artists in iconic settings. The capital becomes an open-air stage, and an authentic glimpse into its creative spirit.

July 2026
Haute Couture Fashion Week
Paris remains the undisputed capital of haute couture. The most prestigious maisons unveil their Fall–Winter 2026/2027 collections, and the world's elite gather for exclusive presentations by Chanel, Dior, Schiaparelli, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli, Valentino and Maison Margiela. The most desirable suites and private residences are booked months ahead.
Bastille Day in Paris: One of the Highlights of the Summer
Bastille Day is one of the most iconic celebrations in Paris. The festivities begin with the traditional military parade along the Champs-Élysées, followed by a wide range of events and activities taking place throughout the city. As evening falls, the famous Firefighters' Balls bring locals and visitors together in a festive and uniquely Parisian atmosphere. The highlight of the night is the spectacular fireworks display launched from the Champ de Mars around the Eiffel Tower, lighting up the Parisian sky in a breathtaking show. Concerts, street parties, cultural events, and open-air celebrations take place across the capital, making July 14th one of the most exciting and memorable days of the year to experience Paris.
Summer Along the Seine
July marks the return of Paris Plages and long evenings on rooftop terraces overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Among the city's most coveted vantage points: Cheval Blanc Paris and its rooftop Le Tout-Paris, The Peninsula's L'Oiseau Blanc, the Shangri-La, Brach and TOO Hôtel — some of the finest sunset views in Europe.

August 2026
Paris for Insiders
August reveals a quieter, more intimate Paris. With many Parisians away, visitors enjoy easier reservations at sought-after tables and a more private experience of the city's landmarks. The ideal moment to explore the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection, the Musée Picasso and the gardens of Luxembourg and Monceau. The Fondation Louis Vuitton's acclaimed Calder. Rêver en équilibre retrospective runs until 16 August — worth catching in its final days.
Rock en Seine
At the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, one of Europe's premier festivals returns for its 23rd edition with a landmark line-up — The Cure, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tyler, the Creator, Deftones and Lorde among them — set against sweeping views over Paris.
Jazz à la Villette
One of Europe's most respected jazz festivals unfolds across the Philharmonie and the Parc de la Villette — ten days where jazz meets soul, funk and hip-hop, with internationally acclaimed names and rising talents alike.
September 2026
Céline Dion Returns to Paris
One of the most anticipated musical moments of the decade. Following her unforgettable appearance at the Paris Olympic opening ceremony, Céline Dion returns for an exclusive residency at Paris La Défense Arena — sixteen performances across two months, with further dates already announced for May 2027. A defining cultural event, expected to draw admirers from around the world.
Paris Fashion Week — Womenswear
The most influential fashion event in the world. For several days the Spring–Summer 2027 collections of Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Hermès, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Loewe and Jacquemus take over the city's hôtels particuliers, museums and monumental settings. The city itself becomes the runway.
Cézanne at the Grand Palais
Conceived jointly with the Musée d'Orsay, Cézanne et nous brings the master of modern painting beneath the Grand Palais' glass roof — a major exhibition tracing his enduring influence, and one of the cultural anchors of the autumn season.
October 2026
Art Basel Paris 2026
Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais for its fifth edition, gathering more than 200 galleries from over 40 countries. For collectors, the most important moments begin earlier: the invitation-only Avant-Première (20 October) and VIP preview days (21–22 October) bring together major collectors, museum directors and the international art world for private dinners, previews and high-profile acquisitions. During Art Basel week, exceptional exhibitions await at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the Bourse de Commerce, the Palais de Tokyo, the Musée d'Art Moderne and the Fondation Cartier.
Journées Particulières — LVMH
A rare, complimentary three-day invitation behind the scenes of the world's greatest maisons — ateliers, cellars, historic boutiques and workshops normally closed to the public open their doors for the sixth edition of this celebration of craft and savoir-faire.
Paris in Autumn Colours
October turns the city into a study in golden light. The Tuileries, the Luxembourg Gardens, Parc Monceau and the banks of the Seine offer some of the most beautiful urban landscapes in Europe — and the Salon d'Automne returns along the Champs-Élysées in mid-month.
November 2026
Paris Photo
The world's largest art fair dedicated to photography returns to the Grand Palais for its 29th edition, with more than 200 exhibitors. Its significance is heightened in 2026 — the year France marks the Bicentennial of Photography, with exhibitions and events nationwide. An essential week for collectors and connoisseurs of the image.
Renoir & the Great Exhibition Season
As winter approaches, the city launches its most ambitious cultural programming. The Musée d'Orsay devotes a luminous retrospective to Auguste Renoir, while the Louvre, the Grand Palais (Cézanne), the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Bourse de Commerce together form one of the richest cultural calendars in the world.
Festival d'Automne · Opera & Ballet Season
Running through autumn into winter, the Festival d'Automne showcases contemporary theatre, dance and music from leading international performers. The Opéra Garnier and Opéra Bastille enter their most active period — and a private box remains among the most sought-after experiences in Parisian society.
December 2026
Paris Under the Christmas Lights
As the holidays arrive, Paris becomes truly magical. The city's grandest avenues are transformed by spectacular illuminations — the Champs-Élysées, Avenue Montaigne, Place Vendôme, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Boulevard Haussmann — while luxury boutiques unveil extraordinary window displays and festive markets appear across the city.
The Great Parisian Palaces
December is the ideal moment to experience Paris' legendary palace hotels, their festive decorations and seasonal tables creating an atmosphere found nowhere else.
The Best Tables
Gastronomy
No luxury journey to Paris is complete without its extraordinary culinary scene. Among the most celebrated Michelin-starred rooms: Plénitude, Guy Savoy, Kei, Arpège, Le Cinq, Pierre Gagnaire and Table by Bruno Verjus — while a new generation of chefs continues to redefine contemporary French cuisine through inventive tasting menus and intimate chef's tables. The most coveted reservations require planning months ahead.
Why Paris, in the Second Half of 2026?
Few destinations can rival the diversity and sophistication of Paris during this period. From world football and the Fête de la Musique to the glamour of couture, the intensity of Art Basel and Paris Photo, the return of Céline Dion and the enchantment of Christmas — every month offers a compelling reason to return. Whether you are a collector, a connoisseur of fashion, a gastronome or simply a traveller in search of the very finest, Paris in 2026 promises moments to remember for a lifetime.
